The project scope covers construction of a plant to expand the diesel and other light products capacity of İzmir Refinery, by converting fuel oil into lighter fractions through hydrocracking and distillation processes. The project was successfully completed earlier than the scheduled date.

The crude oil processing capacity of the refinery was increased by 5 million t/year with the expansion scheme.

The units within the project scope are:

  • Vacuum distillation unit
  • HCU-reactor section
  • HCU-fractionation section
  • Hydrogen unit
  • Visbreaker unit
  • Gas amine treating unit
  • Sulfur recovery unit
  • Sour water treating unit
  • Works outside battery limits
  • Turbogenerators
  • New power distribution center

Tekfen Engineering scope is as follows:

  • Revision of P & I Diagrams of off-site piping
  • General piping arrangement drawings and isometrics
  • Civil and Structural Detail Designs including HVAC and Fire Protection Systems
  • Preparation of technical specifications, data sheets and MTO lists
  • Supervision of electrical and instrumentation works.
